How to Reach

The Indian visitors do not need a visa which gives them a big advantage when visiting Bhutan. Though at a lower cost than other nations, they still need to pay the Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) and get an admission permission. Bhutan can be reached from India in two main ways, road or by plane, as there are no direct railway routes that connect India to Bhutan. Hasimara is the closes railway station located in the state of West Bengal that connects border town Jaigaon, with the rest of Indian states.

By Air

Travelling by Air is the most practical and well-liked method of getting from India to Bhutan. The only international airport in Bhutan, Paro International Airport (PBH), situated in a deep Paro that serves as the landing site for all foreign aircraft to the country.

By Road

Road travel from India to Bhutan is a common substitute for air travel. Jaigaon in West Bengal, which links to Phuentsholing, a border town in Bhutan, is the most popular entry point. Gelephu and Samdrup Jongkhar are two other entry points located in the northern part of Assam.
