The most convenient and popular way to reach Bhutan is by air. Paro International Airport is the country's only international airport and is served by Bhutan's national carrier, Druk Air, as well as Bhutan Airlines. Direct flights are available from several regional hubs including Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Kathmandu, Bangkok, Singapore, and Dhaka, making it accessible from most parts of Asia. It is worth noting that the approach to Paro Airport is considered one of the most scenic and challenging in the world, as the aircraft navigates through the stunning Himalayan mountain ranges before landing in the narrow Paro Valley.

By Road

Bhutan can also be accessed by road, primarily through its land border crossings. The most commonly used entry point is Phuentsholing, a border town in southern Bhutan that connects directly to the Indian town of Jaigaon in West Bengal. This route is popular among travelers coming from India and is accessible by bus, taxi, or private vehicle. Other land border crossings include Gelephu and Samdrup Jongkhar, both of which also connect to neighboring India.
