Bhutan being a landlocked nation in the eastern Himalayas is known by its striking terrain of high mountains steeped with deep valleys. Over 60% of the land is covered with forest area which can be seen from rich and verdant green valleys that adds up to the overall beauty of this region. Its topography varies from the high peaks of the Great Himalayas in the north to subtropical terrains in the south. The country experiences three different climate zones a cold and tundra climate in northern region, a temperate climate in the central region, and a hot and humid subtropical zone in the southern part.
