KS Himalayan Journey came highly recommended by a friend. The guide even invited me to his home to meet his his wonderful family and I got to enjoy authentic Bhutanese homemade food and the warmth of their hospitality. The guide was patient sharing his vast knowledge of Bhutan's culture and it's deep rooted Bhuddist heritage whilst allowing me to explore at my own pace. Being a solo traveller really gave me time to engage deeply in the culture of Bhutan and exploring activities and places leisurely. I am truly grateful to meet such a guide and hope to be back soon.
Without a doubt Bhutan's majestic vista is simply breathtaking. But my greatest takeaway from hiking through this glorious kingdom is how it's people lives and breathes their heritage of warmth and kindness. It was truly an amazing experience. Needless to say, KS Himalayan Journey prepared the itinerary perfectly - the right gear, the right pace and right amount of time to hold space in silence. This is one trip that has transformed me and I can't wait to be back.
Despite our large group of pilgirms, our pilgrimage went smoothly. KS Himalayan Journey organised a number of guides to accompany our large group and made everything so seemless. They arranged everything and even last minute requests didn't faze them. We were allowed to have more time in sacred monasteries for our own pujas, helped to arrange various offerings to monasteries and even made special requests on our behalf. What impressed us most was how attentive the guides were to our group that are of varying ages and physical abilities. They are always around to give a helping hand. Our Cultural Tour was amazing. Our guide, Namgay, was very polite and gave us a deep and meaningful insight into Bhutanese life. It was a profound and unforgettable journey, with special highlights of attending prayers in the monastery and interacting with monks and nuns, learning about their contemplative lives. A riverside cottage in Punakha, private archery lesson, candle-lit dinner under the stars, picturesque picnic - it felt like the entire trip was designed just for us.
